Code of Ethics

A distinguishing mark of a certified professional is acceptance of responsibility to protect the interests of those served. AIOCM CMC's must maintain high standards of conduct to effectively carry out their responsibility. Each AIOCM CMC must agree to uphold the code of ethics of AIOCM. The code stresses professional conduct, consumer protection, and integrity of service.

This code of ethics is applicable to all AIOCM CMC's. Membership in or certification by AIOCM is a voluntary action. By acceptance, CMC members assume obligation of self-discipline beyond the requirements of laws and regulations. The standards set forth in the AIOCM code of ethics provide basic principles in the practice of outcomes- case management. CMC's should realize that their individual judgment is required in the application of these principles. CMC's who are determined by AIOCM to be in violation of the code of ethics shall be subject to forfeiture of their certification.

Therefore, it is vital that those professionals conduct their work in an ethical manner to earn and maintain confidence of team members, colleagues, employees, employers, clients and the public.
